The teacher used these data to advocate for specific activities the parent could do with the student:
- "[G]ives mother 'beginning sounds' sheet," which the mother can use to 'Practice 'A-a-apple, B-b-bed,' etc. 5x/day," along with a "little pointer to use" and advice on how to pronounce the sounds on the sheet.
- "Lent mother letter tiles," which she could use to play a game: "scramble letters she struggles with, call them off and have her find them, etc."
- "Sight words -- gave mother list, [and] word cards," including "flash cards of sight words" circled by the teacher as most important.
